Education

The Galt Joint Union Elementary School District serves approximately 4,300students in pre-school through the eighth grade. The District provides a quality education to all students utilizing core curriculum that emphasizes the academic standards adopted by the California State Board of Education. In addition they offer a variety of programs at its five elementary schools and two middle schools that supplement the core curriculum. Including: Gifted and Talented Education (GATE), choral and instrumental music, technology learning resources and service learning opportunities through the Cosumnes River Preserve and the McFarland Ranch Living History Project. The Galt High School District has a total of over 2,100 students. Galt High School provides students with a number of educational opportunities including advanced placement and honors level classes as well as experiences in the visual/performing arts, an agriculture science academy, health science academy and a pre-engineering program. Numerous other program options also exist to address student career goals. The High School District is also pleased to soon be breaking ground on the new Liberty Ranch High School.
