Programs The Parks & Recreation Department provides a variety of leisure activities for Galt citizens that include youth and adult sports. They are located at 610 Chabolla Ave., (209) 366-7180. Ballroom Dance, Belly Dance, Adult Basketball, Youth Basketball, Girls Softball, T-Ball & Instructional, City Tots, Dog Training, Fitness, Fitness in a Chair, Citizenship Classes, Swim Program, Group Guitar, Gymnastics, Gymnastics for Tots, Kids “R” It Dance-Ballet, Tap & Jazz, Kid Safe Fall, Line Dancing, T’ai Chi, Tang So Do Karate, Tennis Lessons.

Area Attractions

Galt has many local attractions for your enjoyment. The beautifully restored Rae House and the historic Mc- Farland Ranch are wonderful places to learn about Galt’s history. The Consumes River Preserve has a visitor center and nature trails to explore the area’s nature trails and explore the area’s natural beauty. For golfers we have the Dry Creek Ranch and Forest Lake Golf Course. Shoppers will enjoy visiting the outdoor Galt Market. Galt is also home to PAWS, The Performing Animal Welfare Society. Also be sure to visit the Rancho Seco Recreation area, which is owned and operated by the Sacramento Municipal Utility District. The park is open year-around and offers picnicking, boating, swimming, fishing, wind-surfing and camping. Also observe exotic captive wildlife at the park’s Amanda Blake Memorial Wildlife Refuge, a 75-acre grassy compound.
